Signs Of Transmission Trouble In Your Import

Your imported vehicle’s transmission is easily its most complicated component. With over 800 individual pieces, this delicate and important mechanism in your car is as intricate as it is important. But how do you know if this part of your vehicle is malfunctioning or starting to have issues? There are a few ways to tell, and at the first sign of any of these, get your imported car to us.

Your Check Engine Light

Though your transmission is far from the only thing that can activate your check engine light, a transmission issue can absolutely cause this warning to pop up. Coupled with the other things listed here, an activated check engine light can be an indicator that your import’s transmission is in trouble.

Grinding Or Slipping

When you accelerate or decelerate in your car, your transmission is working its hardest, changing gears to accommodate the changing speeds. As this happens, you may notice a grinding feeling, or your gears may feel like they are slipping or struggling to change. If you notice either of these, it is a surefire way to tell that there are transmission problems afoot. Even if they seem minor, transmission problems get worse over time, so make an appointment when they first pop up.

Red Or Brown Fluid

If you notice red or brown fluid pooling underneath your car, this is a warning that your transmission is leaking and having issues. You’ll want to get your imported vehicle to us right away if you notice this kind of fluid leak, and we can help get you fixed up.
